As mentioned earlier this week–I’ve got stuff for Etsy!

I’ll be updating with more stuff over the weekend! Candles & books & things! :D

I’m still working on the update of the main website. Still aiming *optimistically* to have it done by sunday evening. Might seem like a lot of time but it really isn’t (at least not when I’m up to all this other stuff LOL).

Now that I finally managed to finish the first batch of pillows & cushions for etsy, I am now trying to photograph them. I wasn’t happy with my first batch of photos *not to mention I didn’t have any dolls in those photos*.  I’m trying to do them a few each day (last night I got one set done but today I expect to get more than that done).

Part of this week/next week I want to spend sewing for my blythes & possibly finishing up my customizing of Emily (natasha moore blythe).  I’m getting frustrated when I want to dress her only to find that less than 10% of my clothing will work for her body. So! I’d done some sketches a few weeks ago & I’ll dig them out and have a go.  I’m also toying with the idea of making some steampunky  clothes for blythes as well. I figure I might as well since I like them, I have most of the materials on hand, and heck, maybe someone else would like one too! (I love etsy, really!) Not to mention I need to find the funding to pay for my domain renewal & hosting since that’s due next month. *ugh*

Things here are a little on edge for me since Electra seems to be a bit sick. She’s got diarrhea. I called the vet about it but they said not to worry at this point.  She has an appt on the 16th so if she gets worse in anyway before then we’ll take her. She still has a good appetite but I worry. :S

Mark is also in the process of inserting the stairway bannisters & railing etc. Me & the furry kittens are trying to stay out of the way. I’m very glad I am not doing it.

I’ll update again soon. Promise!

You may not know this but I tend to work in cycles. I’ll work on something (or related somethings) then along the way a few weeks, months (or years) later I’ll switch into another track and work on something else.

I’ve been trying to build up the energy to add some more books to my “library” and have been working on those. They’re a real pain in the ass to do which is why I only work on making new ones every couple of months or so. They’re labor intensive and just really hard on the eyes.

I’m working on some of the fictional books too and might have them done in a few weeks, since they aren’t first up on my priority. Things here are sort of up in the air (the house, the space scenario etc)

But hopefully I’ll have more photos of stuff to share soon.

Other projects that I’m working on this week:

  • I’m working on the Cafe again and am painting the walls for it this week. I’m going to see about adding the detailing to the furnishings *and oh, yea painting the tables and chairs LOL)*. It’s a slow going project but at least when it’s done it’ll look good.
  • I also need to make a base for the front of it (sidewalk) and the awning area (and some door handles & locks for the front door).

FYI I’ll be working on my regular website this week so if you happen to stumble across it and it doesn’t look right/work or is not there you’ll know why (but feel free to ping me an email anyway–it might be a mistake! LOL)
I’m still learning when it comes to that stuff too. It’s been a while since I did anything with it and since y’all were nice enough to comment on the fact you’d like to see a diorama section I’ll be sure to add one.  It’s kind of funny but looking at the analytics for the main website vs. the blog it’s almost 2 different sets of visitors. Go figure?

I know, I bet y’all thought I haven’t been doing much lately, haven’t you?  Ok…I can admit that I go in cycles. I make plenty of stuff but sometimes it’s the effort of setting them up for photos that just does my head in! (So consequently things get boxed up and stuck in a “photograph later” corner of the room.) But I have baked goods & furniture to share now!

But this week I managed to photograph a bunch of them — partly due to Carmen’s encouragement & general “go girl” attitude! Thanks C!  If you’re interested in seeing more photos of them you can check out my Etsy (where they’re all listed!)

I’ll start with the baked goods then follow up with the furniture!

Pink frosted Chocolate Cupcakes

Chocolate Peanut-butter Fudge Bars

Small Moonpies

Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes

And here are the couches I’ve made!

Maroon Couch

Sage green Couch

Thanks for looking! :D

Not wanting to forget about the action figure girls in my repainting frenzy, I decided to go to work on some of the knock offs I’d gotten. I like the Midori headsculpt and IMO its one of the nicest of the CG heads out there.

These heads are seriously over-rooted with hair. I had to try to thin it out and event hen still decided to give them boil perms to get the hair to lie down flat.

#1 Brown eyes

#2 Blue eyes

Over all I’m happy with how they turned out. They’ll be going up for sale on Etsy this weekend since even though I like them I don’t have a use for them.

As Carmen commented in my previous post yes I did manage to get a couple of things listed on Etsy yesterday evening! So if you’d like to check out my 1:6 books feel free to pop over and check out my Etsy shop.

Later this week I’ll be adding some new cupcake sets too! and 2 couches!! ;)

Yes, at long last I finished the project!!!  I’ve managed to make 4 “Valentine’s Gift” sets in 1:6 scale.   :cheerful:

They’ve definitely taken a lot of work & time to make and I can’t pretend to be sad to have finished! IMO they’re very nice to look at (I made all the chocolate / candy pieces to be removable) but I’m not sure that I’ll be making any more this year. Or next.  I dunno.

Anyway, here’s what a couple of them look like: (there are more pics on my etsy)

Check out Balthazar doing the Valentine’s Day thing below!  I’m so glad I got that Hot Toys sniper  headsculpt when I could! (I do really need to repaint those hands though. And de-shine his body…maybe this weekend!

Fashion Royalty Giselle with a valentine gift

Each box of chocolates has a different combination & selection of candies  and each bouquet is slightly different as well. It’s pretty much a case of WYSIWYG.

Anyway feel free to check them out—and as always, comment! ;)

This weekend I spent most of my time working on goodies for Etsy. I’m Really glad to say that I got a lot done and I’m going to be happy to share pics of them soon. They’re all valentines day themed (not very exciting I know) but I think they are cute nonetheless.

I’ve also decided that tomorrow is probably the day I’ll finally finish off my top-10 list of 2009 (I know I procrastinate too much)! So stay tuned & see what shows up in the blog!

Just a quick update–I’ve spent the last week or so trying to work on valentines goodies for Etsy.

I’m not sure how good the things are but I’m trying.  I’m making cupcakes & sweets & some smaller props to use.  Valentines has never been a holiday I paid a lot of attention to–but this year I think my dolls may demand a set of  goodies for themselves to keep. (that’s fair, isn’t it? I can keep some of the stuff I make….right?)

I’m being treated to a trip to Birmingham today! I’m going to the quilt shop there to pick up some more fabric for my in process 1:6 quilt. I started it with some various pieces I had lying around but am running out quickly & know there won’t be enough for all the additional blocks I have yet to make.

So here’s to a morning getting lost in Birmingham!

I’ll  check in later & update the Top 10 list with number 3 (and maybe number 2 also)

Just a quick blurb (or widget) with my newer listings on Etsy.

Feel free to check em out!

Wow, stuff is selling way better than I expected!! :D

YAY! At last!

(I’ve only gotten 4 things up so far but I have more to follow later this weekend) Check it out if you get the chance and please add me to your favorites :)

At last! Things are coming together! :D

It looks like by tomorrow afternoon I should have some goodies listed in my etsy shop. I’m excited about this (very much so!) and hope that the photos I took today will come out well enough to use. Tomorrow I’ll post food goodies, and then if I can manage it, some of the other props I have made & ready to go (books, plants etc).

Keep an eye out! I’ll post as soon as I have stuff!! :D :D :D

So here it is–November! Time for me to get my stuff finished up and listed on etsy (this week, really!)

But along with Etsy goodness to come, this is the National Novel Writing Month!! (The premise, just in case you don’t know about it is that you write a book in 30 days of at least 50K words)

I’ve taken part in this for 2 years (last year didn’t really happen) and while I am going to participate this year I am not going to follow the format exactly. What I am going to do is write a collection of pieces that will provide me (hopefully) with back-stories, scripts & the like to use in future episodes of the Quinlan Chronicles, as well as giving me scripts that I can use for the “shorts” I plan on doing as a tide-me-over with regard to the chronicles.

When I have some time later today I’ll also post a few doll related things (I know I said that last time, but I’ve finally got some photography space in the room) :p

This weekend I made some good headway on clay-related goodies to (eventually) put up on Etsy. I managed to improve the clay-color mix for the chocolate chip cookies (although they still need some tweaking) and the cupcakes are improving too.

Tonight, migraine permitting (it’s building now and I’m hoping a few aleve and some dark will help) I’ll try to prep another few batches of cupcakes & cookies. It saddens me to admit that it really does take me hours to make them between prepping & making & cooking.  :(   Still, I am finding it pretty enjoyable (except for the constant battle against cat hairs in the clay)

Last night I also began to plan out a second couch/sofa to make. It’s different than my previous ones, so it’ll be a case of trial and error.  To begin with, I don’t think I have enough supplies here on hand to make the base form. I’ll have to see if there’s another way around that…

On my list of things to do tomorrow:

Kitchen/Food roomset for Etsy: spray prime one of the barbie table & chair sets. I plan on using it for some settings with the food as part of the display.  I also plan on using the counters from the Sindy kitchen (aka the avacado green kitchen) .

For the Etsy 1:6 furniture & accessories roomset

oldset

I am planning on cutting down this older wall and using it as part of a smaller roomset base (the same base the kitchen fits on). I argued with Mark about this over the weekend–as it is now, I don’t use that set, and I don’t like the way the windows (2) weren’t really balanced. This way, I have it someplace I can use it (frequently) and get rid of the oversized wall set. I’m thinking I’ll use it as an accent wall with 2 white walls.
