YAY! At last!

(I’ve only gotten 4 things up so far but I have more to follow later this weekend) Check it out if you get the chance and please add me to your favorites :)

It’s been a little while since I updated the blog, so here’s what I’ve got:

I’ve spent the last month or so working on learning how to work with polymer clay so I could try making 1:6 food & props.  I was aiming to have them up in my Etsy shop before now, but things aren’t working out that way at the moment. (I am going out of town on Monday and I won’t be back for 2 weeks which would make listing & shipping them problematic at best.)

Anyway here are some pics of my creations:

On another note:

My kitten of 19 years has to go back to the vets on Tuesday (yes, a day after I leave) to get a biopsy of some tissue in her mouth.  At the moment it is a 60-40% chance that it’s oral cancer or an extreme infection.  The vet we saw today thought it unlikely to be an infection because there was a hard spot in the center of the mass area….but she can’t say for certain without the biopsy.   So we’ve brought Pudgy kitten home, and we’ve been given some cat-geared-opiates for her to help with any discomfort or pain she may have. She also got a sub-q injection of antibiotics in case it is an infection and hopefully if that’s the case it will help her mouth to clear up a little before her visit back on Tuesday.

Honestly speaking, I wish it wasn’t cancer but I have the gut feeling that it is. :(

If that’s the case then it’ll be palliative care for her until her quality of life seems to be slipping, and then sadly, euthanasia.  I’m pushing to Mark that we need to give her as much love & affection as we can (even more since I will be gone for 2 weeks).

Any well wishes or good vibes you want to send her way would be really, really welcome & appreciated.  This is Pudge:

Anyway.

That’s what’s on my plate and why you probably won’t be seeing any posts for a week or so.

My goal yesterday was to make some strawberries out of polymer clay.  I was optimistic, even a little psyched to try it out…however my efforts have failed miserably.   ;-(    I obviously need to try again–but perhaps at a time when I have a bit more patience.

I didn’t want my whole day to be a loss on the clay front, I decided to try my hand at making some 1:6 blueberries.  Those, I’m happy to say turned out better. :D

They range in size from 1mm to 4mm for the really large ones. They’re actually darker in person, and more of the blue of real blueberries but capturing the color this am seems too much for my brain!

I’m toying with the idea of after I bake them going back and adding the “crowns” that they tend to have. It might be too much work–but then it might look really good. I’ll probably try it out with one or two & see how it looks.

Well, here we are folks… the results of my first attempts with the clay…

I tried, ok? ^_^
