How did I get here?

I am, at last, doing better. My chemistry has begun to level out and allow me to start enjoying my hobbies and crafts again. While not as well as I’d like to be I’ve caught an upswing and I’m going with it for as long as I can.

What’s been happening here?
Lots of snow, ice and cold.
But there are also dolls.
So many dolls! (ok, not really so many since I sold off a bunch for bills and stuff–but still, more than some folks have.)
I’m feeling the love again and have even taken the time to redress some and to make a few custom accessories for them. Which I take to be a good sign. 🙂 I’ve been looking at the new releases from Integrity Toys, and yes, even Barbie. Can you believe I asked for a Barbie for xmas? Yes, it’s truuuue. 😛 My best friend Nat was kind enough to get her for me! 😀 😀 😀
This is what she looks like (not my photos):

I’m thinking I might name her Jemma, but I’m not sure. After I take some pics of her I’m sure I’ll decide what name fits the personality.

Something Else to think about:

I got “let go” from my job about 2 weeks ago. It was related to my health and in one way I feel relieved to not have to deal with the jerk manager. However, even as I feel relieved–I’m stressed because that was my only income. So not having the job hurts.

It’s 2018 and I am working on being as positive as I can. So I am using that as my impetus to start listing things in my Etsy shop again. I plan to do it regularly so that I 1) can help with the bills and 2) make more stuff without having to shift around all the stuff I’ve already made but haven’t bothered to list. So all around, I’m going to say that being let go isn’t such a bad thing even if it does make me uncomfortable for a while.

  1. I am glad to hear that you are doing better! Even small steps can make a big difference. It is also good that you are keeping a positive attitude about things as well. I will have to go and take a look at your Etsy shop. Who knows, I might even buy something! Keep up the good work!

  2. I am glad that you are back! I am sorry to hear you had to sell dolls to pay bills – that is always rough, and your dolls have such character. I love your Volks dolls and their clothing and personalities. I have enjoyed your blog for tutorials and inspiration.

  3. Glad to hear you’re doing better enough to enjoy your hobbies again! Congrats on your new girl. I can totally see her fitting in at Quinlan. Looking forward to seeing what you put up on Etsy.

  4. It’s wonderful to hear you’re doing better and have adopted a positive attitude.
Keep taking care of yourself 😀

  5. Hi ! I know we are acquainted on FB or something … surfed into your DIY doll dreadlocks page today. Holy cats, you’re only like 4 hours away from me. ANYway, argh, sorry about the job loss, and good luck with building a new routine and I look forward to seeing your work on Etsy.

I am backsliding, er, getting back into the 18″/AG/Cissy/Obitsu scale (I hope) and I REALLY miss a few of the repaints I’ve had in the past. Be very careful with selling, although I totally know how that goes. And I love the 1:6 scale set … SO much one can do with them, and so many are so fabulously posable now !!
