Top toys of 2008: #8 Nero the Bear
Description of Toy/Toyline: One of A Kind (OOAK) fully jointed bear in 1:6 scale. Created by Cynthia Allen, a deceased toymaker who quite frankly, rocked when it came to making Nero.
So why did Nero make my list?
- Nero (I named him after Nero Wolfe, a detective in the old Rex Stout novels) is jointed just like my old steiff bear. His head turns (yes, he can do an exorcist impression if needed!) as well as his arms & legs.
- He IS 1:6 scale !
- The attention to detail on him is friggin stellar!
- He just looks cool.
- I got him for a song–which, really, who out there doesn’t like to get a good deal, eh?
There you have it! #8. Tomorrow will be a double post with 7 & 6 to make up for the fact that I didn’t post yesterday and I want to wrap this up by the 31st!
