You remember that I was working on the CG Electra? She looked like this after I re-rooted her and wiped her face:
It took a few tries–I was feeling very fussy about the kind of look I wanted her to have. I was getting more and more frustrated since my painting brushes are pretty much shot (and they do really affect how my painting turns out). I also did a repaint of an old re-rooted AJ jead, and touched up the face paint on the FR Giselle and Ayumi heads….photos to follow at some point!
I need to find a name for her and to decide about how old she is. How old does she look to you folks?
So what kind of impression does she make?
Okies I gotta go but I’d really love to hear your ideas on how old she might be!

She’s so pretty! She has a very kind face. But there’s a pain behind her eyes. Like she suffered through something terrible in her youth. Maybe it took her a while to get over it but she seems very confident now in her own personal strength. Seriously I get all that from her. I’d venture to say mid 30′s. I’m terrible at names but I’m feeling something that begins with a ‘J’. Jessica? Jasmine? Juniper? Jessamane?
Thanks Dani
I’m not sure if she’s going to be a J-name or what just yet. Still mulling her personality & things over.
Hell, I dunno, just gave you what popped into my head! Naming dolls is torture for me. Good luck!
I have no idea about a name, but I think she’d be a bit younger – mid to late 20s? Her eyes imo look too young for 30+.
And congrats on a beautiful repaint. I still get the Electra-vibe, but you made herless comic-y looking, more real. Well done!
Thanks for that Ursula
I was trying really hard to ditch the comic-y/ cartoony look that she did have. So I’m glad I was successful in that at least! (Not sure if I’ll be able to say the same when I show you the AJ repaint though) :/
My first thought was mid to late 20s. I could see her as someone who is very responsible and has it together. I think she has a wry sense of humor and is very intelligent. Maybe she’s someone who has done some traveling?
I think that since she’s a professional actress she must have done some traveling (although how she’ll have ended up with a rinky dink production company on the east coast is a question I’ll have to answer for her) and I think you’re reading her correctly inso far as the intelligence goes. I wonder if she wants to stay an actress or is ready to give it up for something else….
Gorgeous work!! She looks like a hotter version of the Kardashian sisters. I think she’s about 25 years of age. trish
Thanks Trish I have to say that overall I’m pleased with her new face (much better than her default anyway!)
Looks like she looks younger to the majority of you so far? She’s apparently a 20-something (am I old that I remember watching 30-something on tv? LOL)
My vote is for 28-29 that was the age number/s I got once seeing her, how about Elaine for her name?
I recall when she first went on sale, the MWD folks called her “Jail Bait,” as she did look much younger than other CG releases. Your repaint does give her a tad more seasoning – I agree with mid to late 20s.
The pic before the face-wipe brought memories of her starring role in Bashalot’s FN long story – I think it’s still available in FN archives.
One of the problems is our perception of 1:1 women’s age changes with advances in cosmetics and procedures.
Dick
Oh-oh, Bashalot’s Story using Electra is no longer available. “Kharma” and “Blademaster” are still there.
Dick
Nah. As someone who is 30, I can say that face is under 25. Does that make sense? Heh.
And I don’t see kind. But most Barbies and Kens look like bitches and douche bags, to me. Can I type that here? LOL!
LOL yea, you can type that here since it’s germane to the topic
Welcome to the blog & thanks for taking the time to comment–And I know I was thinking she looked younger than 30 (being beyond that myself as well!)
She looks fabulous Erica – I love her hair and face up (and her shoes!)
Thanks Sally
The hair I can take credit for–but her shoes–not so much so. They’re a pair of bratz shoes that I cut down in size, sanded, repainted and inserted cg foot pegs into.
Hello there – I’m sorry to barge in here, but I was Google searching CG Electra figures when I ran upon your blog. I just pulled mine out about 20 minutes ago — she’s been on display in my den/computer room for a while and is dusty as all-get-out but still in beautiful shape. Your repaint/reroot is….it’s just jaw-dropping. I can’t stop looking at the pictures. You did a FABULOUS job. It’s always been a dream of mine to repaint and reroot (my few repaint attempts have been laughable at best lol, and rerooting seems so difficult..), and seeing what you came up with for Electra is awesomely inspiring.
Again, sorry for the intrusion, but I HAD to comment. She is absolutely beautiful, and definitely looks like the strong, intelligent, witty type to me – maybe of few words, but very profound ones when she speaks them. Lovely lovely job!
Don’t be silly! You’re welcome to comment any time! No one barges in here (except the spammers and I kick em out as soon as they post!)
Thank you for your really lovely comments.
And I started doing out some pretty scary repaints but you know, it really is true that you get better with practice. I’d recommend getting a knock off CG head and using it to practice on. Then your skills will improve and you can re-do your electra too!
She is beautiful! I am a new follower. Love your work.
