Oh I know! When I went to Miniatura a few years back I was astounded at the sheer amount of things available---but also struck by the attitude about anything other than the 1/12, 1/24, 1/48 and even 1/144.

I really have a difficult time understanding the snobbery & the general unwillingness to accept 1/6 scale. As a business person/ artisan who sells their work--wouldn't you think you'd be willing to expand out of the comfort zone when you see that there's a niche for it? I know I would.

And no Sally, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with Fashion Dolls! Or Action Figures! :D

Yep! And I bet we're not the only 1:6'ers out there who're experiencing it! :(
Ah well, right? (anf thanks for the info on the movie/book. :)

I thought about trying the printing on fabric thing, but my printer isn't too happy just printing on paper so I have to find another route. I'm still thinking about painting it on fabric and trying to texture it in a way to make it look less plastic-y. My other option is to embroider or applique the smaller things (like the banners & pennants).

We'll see. I've seen some 1/12 people do cross-stitch but i don't have the eyesight or the patience for that!

Sooo true about the wide availability of 1/12th and scarcity of 1/6th! I've been to a few miniature shows/ fayres and there can be some snobbery about trying to find things in 1/6 which is considered fashion doll scale. There's nothing wrong with fashion dolls is what I say!!

Seems like we have the same problem at the moment. And yes, the figures are from <a>Timeline</a>, a movie based on the novel by Michael Crichton, a group of archaeologists travel back into medieval France. The clothes aren't historically correct, but some of the accessories are nice.

About the tapestries - have you thought about trying to print on fabric? Then you could just look for appropriate motifs and print them in your desired size.
