At long last, I finished it!

Thanks to Milkshake Melody for lending me Inessa and the gang!
(I’m working hard to finish Tangie, Miel’s & Meg’s)
sorry the images are so big…
Posted in Eh, what?
Talk about emotional baggage - are they sure they are related? I’m looking forward to see what happens when Inessa meets August. Although we haven’t heard too much of him yet, I’m sure he can give her a run for her money (don’t let us wait too long
).
I love the extreme close-ups and all the small details scattered around, imo you did a very good layout. Congrats.
And how did you do Inessa’s fingernails? They fit her character very well, it’s just one of those finishing touches that makes it all the more believable.
LOL!
they certainly are related! (although just different ends of the spectrum!) Inessa is the work of Nat from Milkshake Melody and is a wonderful repaint (I’m just ashamed that none of my photos show how clear and crisp her face is! (I’d like to be able to paint that way but stylistically, I’m just on a different path)
Thank you for the compliment on my photography–I’m trying to improve (if I could better understand the technical stuff behind photographing I would do even better–but I struggle.)
I’m glad you liked the layout!
I had actually been having a hard time figuring out what furniture *that I actually have on hand* would suit Yseult’s personality. I had involved her on the MWD traveling doll and thought ok, I could use the futon & stuff, but I really didn’t feel it struck the right note all by itself. I think Yseult is eclectic in her decor… I also picked up the “candlesticks” and the mantle clock on feebay. The cool thing about the mantle clock is that it really works–*which meant there were a couple of shots I could not use because of continuity– the clock showed 10 in one, 3 in another and 7 in another LOL ;P
So when I managed to snag a couple of vintage pieces of Sindy furniture on fee-bay they seemed perfect!
:D I don’t honestly know why Mattel couldn’t make furniture like that!
“I don’t honestly know why Mattel couldn’t make furniture like that!”
Isn’t that a question we all ask ourselves from time to time?
What is it about the technical stuff you don’t understand? I could always ask the Dearest - my primary advisor to photography related problems.
He’s quite good with all the technical stuff.
A few weeks ago I found this post:

I did only bookmark it and haven’t checked out the links yet, but maybe it’ll help you. If not there are a lot of tutorials on the Internet. Just have a look.
uhh, she looks a pretty nasty piece
I love bad characters and by the way…I was wondering as well how you made her nails.
Ursula
Thanks for the tip off for the e books! I’m going to try to take some time this weekend to look through them. It’s hard to explain the stuff that gives me the most problems– mostly depth of field and stuff like that. And exposures. I tend to bracket a lot of my shots since I don’t know how things will turn out…so I think I waste a lot of shots–thankfully I don’t use “real” film anymore!
Claudia
I have to agree with you that Inessa is a nasty piece! But she’s so much fun as a character that I was thrilled when my friend was willing to send her my way! I was just worried that I wouldn’t show her personality as well as her creator could.
As for the nails, this is a good way of explaining the process used:

(the link is from Ursula btw!) I haven’t tried making any myself yet…its just one more thing on a long list of want-to-try things!
I hope I will get some more stories up and running soon.
