Today was a rather nice surprise! :w00t:

Instead of the same ol’ same ol’ we went on a road trip to find a castle.  Last night we’d randomly chosen “Beeston castle” off the english heritage site as one we ought to go check out.

Here are some pics. I have more but I’m pretty knackered and don’t have the patience to edit/resize them all at the moment. Eventually I’ll stick them on flickr.

Although it was a nice place it wasn’t as interesting as many of the castles we’ve seen…so on our rating score it gets a 4.5.  It was a nice walk around though (and quite steep) and the weather was unusually fine (I’m sunburnt now!)  Was it worth almost 2 hours in the car? Eh, for novelty, yes. For niftiness…nope.
But it was a really nice change from Coventry! So it gets a gold star for that!

  1. Simply stunning views. Thank you for sharing these pictures with us. I loved the dragon cloud. LOL! The castle is amazing and those views are to simply to die for. I hope I get to see views like that in person one day.
