Friday Monologues #1

Friday MonologuesΒ  (I know that these aren’t true monologues–but just bear with me for now, ok?)

Here’s FM#1 featuring Thom.

Please if you do actually read it — comment in this post. I’d appreciate it. 😎

*PS: the ending is rather abrupt but seeing as it’s less than an hour before midnight I chose abrupt rather than deciding to put off ending it for another day—or 2…or…3….you get the idea?*

*PPS: I just realized there are some typos in it–I’m aware they’re there. If I can find time tomorrow I’ll fix them then  *

  1. Wow, that Thom has a very active social life, lol. Hope we didn’t disrupt his night too much! And okay, so first of all, I looved loooved loooved the posing, amazingly realistic, especially that shot where he’s on the couch holding the soda bottle! Yum  !

Well, I thought this was totally fun! I always love a good behind the scenes interview, which is kind of what this felt like. I think it’s a great way to introduce us all to your cast, and once your photostories are underway, it would be a really cool way for newcomers to learn about the characters. Anyhow, I guess what really matters is what you thought. Hopefully you enjoyed doing it, because I’m looking forward to the next one

  2. Thanks for sharing. This Thom monologue didn’t seem short; he was more open than he intended at first, but then he gave a more practiced riff about his job. And he had places to go, people to see LOL.

Aside: I love the way you inserted a photo of the legs and hips of Thom’s ex-girlfriend. It felt like I had a flash of his thoughts, a visual of them that underscored his missing her. Interesting also that instead of her face, we see her legs. Showing more than overt telling.

Aside 2: I love his suit and the belt. Very well done.

I don’t know how many hits you’ve received today, but I think this post is a winner. I hope it satisfied you as well so that you will provide MORE of them.

    Please …. πŸ˜‰

  3. Thanks C & D7ana! I appreciate the feedback on FM#1 :cheerful:

Yea Thom has a more active social life than I imagined. It’s funny what comes out after you take the shots & have to add some dialogue! And thanks for the feedback about the flash-back image. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work & I’m glad it did.
The suit I got about 2 years back–it fits the HT body really well (the t-shirt was from something else).

So far it doesn’t seem like many folks have bothered to check the mini-photostory out :ermm: (at least according to the site statistics  ) but as long as you two are still reading I’ll keep doing it–ok?

  4. Nice work Erica,

I like the candid intro to your character πŸ™‚ Especially the flashback to his Ex’s legs, being a leg man myself, I can completely relate…lol

I like how you did the expression changes as well, they came out good.

You did a good job at expressing his thoughts and emotions through the posing too.

    Keep it up πŸ™‚

  5. I love it!

I really like the combination of thought/spoken bubbles, so we can see what he’s thinking as well as saying out loud. And the contrast of those two is really quite funny–reminds me of the movie “What Women Want,” only with the gender roles reversed.

  6. Will Thanks! I’m really pleased that you think the expressions worked out. I was kind of worried that they’d look hokey.
D7ana I’m happy to spoil as long as I get feedback (I’m soooo feedback dependent when it comes to being motivated to do things!) I can’t usually be bothered to do them for myself but I’m happy to exert the effort for someone else. πŸ˜›
Alington Thank you! I’m glad you felt it worked too! And Yea, you know I hadn’t thought of it but the WWW reference is pretty apt! πŸ™‚

  7. I love it Erica!! I have been thinking in terms of stories not just poses. I love how Thom comes to life.

    LOL @ Will!!! Leg man!!! πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

  8. Given that I also work a university and am probably one of those professors who makes less than Thom does (OUCH!), this is a great, earthy, real, bit.

  9. Jules Thank you! I’m glad you do! I hope you consider doing some soon too! :cheerful:
Barbara Hehe! thank you! I’ve worked as admin staff in a few different academic spots and know some of the sub-currents that went on then…I try to remember it since I’m going to base the Chronicles at such a place (and I’d always welcome your comments too! πŸ™‚ I know salaries & tenure were always touchy subjects….

  10. I thoroughly enjoyed it. He was a natural. As soon as he said he liked long legs I immediately thought, FR girls have long long legs, bet his x was one of those and then, wham! there’s the shot! Gorgeous long long legs and were they FRs? Brill. Love they way we get to read his thoughts. Always a good thing as far as I’m concerned. Your posing, story, props, sets and layouts are always excellent. This is the pefect way to get to know everyone. :kissing:

    1. Thanks Valli! πŸ™‚
Part of my primary reason for doing the Friday Monologues was to better enable me to get a grasp on the personalities that different characters have—and to try to share that with readers. .

“Gorgeous long long legs and were they FRs?”

Actually……they are the legs from a Takara CG. πŸ˜‰

    1. Hey there! :cheerful: Thanks for taking the time to comment on the blog. I’ve had a look at your site as well. You’ve got interesting stuff there–and I’m liking the mini movie–seems like a massive amount of work to do it??

  11. My pleasure

Yes it was a lot of work and has been on the shelf for some time. Maybe it’s due for some new material.

Seeing your stuff makes me wonder if I should
