So here’s a question of those of you who read this blog–where do you store/keep (or even display) your action figures & dolls?
Post an answer in the comments section (and if you have photos I’d love a link to those as well!!)
As promised I’ve taken a couple of pics of where my dolls & action figures hang out. It’s not pretty & they’re not particularly in focus, but you get the drift.
Shelf 1 - mostly the bicycles & motorcycles & 1:6 moving boxes are up there…along with a couple of in-progress dolls: Merrit’s Mom, Rupert, blue…Volks Century Model and the original Olivia the Hairdresser.
Shelf 2 – 2nd string figures (They aren’t less liked, it’s just that I don’t need to access them as much as those on the 3rd shelf).
Shelf 3 – This is the “Popular” shelf. These are figures that I usually want to be able to grab quickly & with as little fuss as possible (you’ll note that this shelf has the highest “ceiling” of the three. I did that because I kept knocking everyone over otherwise & just generally getting irritated & frustrated by it!!!
Shelf 4 – This is the catch-all-the-rest-of-the-junk shelf. You name it, it might just be there.
And even though August is on the “less popular” shelf….He isn’t. He just didn’t want to be stuffed in with a majority of students.
(Wait….hmmm… Something might be going on here… Girlfriend on one side…Co worker on the other?)

LOL Awesome. It’s always really fun to see how other people display their dolls. I wish more people would do that. So question, did you clean it up before you took a pic? XD Shelf #3 is so reminiscent of a class photo LOL I like your shelf a lot. August hiding out in the background makes him look so devious. :bandit: LOL!
My privileged dolls are on my bookshelf. Those who don’t get played with as much are in safe storage in a drawer, away from gnawing kitty teeth. I’ll have to post a photo of mine soon.
Hehe
Don’t forget to take a pic of your set up!
“did you clean it up before you took a pic? “
Nope.
If I had I would have arranged everyone next to people they like and or can stand. I think there are a few girls who’d have demanded to be in the front! I think part of the reason it has that “class photo” feel to it is that I have them arranged in rows (like they made us sit in as kids LOL) Maybe at some point I’ll do that with them!
I don’t store on shelves, I store in boxes… so no pics from me. I hope that’ll change someday.
If I’ve got a diorama WIP or recently completed and still standing, then the dolls / figures populating it will stay out in the open as long as the diorama stands, but that’s it.
Blaze, Pauli & Mr. Cuddles usually find themselves in an extra compartment of my photo backpack.
Same here, mine are 99% stored. I use individual Baseball card boxes that are 3″ x 4″ x 14″ long for each doll. Each box holds one doll and all the personal effects that I assign to that doll.
Thanks for this post. I love to see other collectors’ stuff. I like the way you have yours out and about on your shelves. And the “use” factor falling in with the storage placement – good idea.
Most of mine are on shelves or on other surfaces. Some are still NRFB or returned to their boxes but recently, I have doll and action figure armies standing in portable boxes, on shelves, etc.
Here’s a link to one photo on my blog about my DAF Room (Doll & Action Figure Room): http://phillycollector.blogspot.com/2009/11/attempting-order-daf-organization-part.html
Haha, I love your organisational skills. My poor neglected 1/6ths are patiently waiting for the day until I start playing with them again…

Seems more than likely I’m *slowly* getting back into them… Thank goodness for blogs like yours for duking it out xD
Some of my dolls are on bookshelves, some are stored into cardboard boxes… I’ve no room for displaying all of them!!
