I spent most of the night up with her, giving her all the love (and chicken) I could and thinking about all the times we’ve had together.

pudge-1

I remember when I first saw her at the animal shelter in Schoharie county, and how I was irritated at the shelter’s administrator for trying to talk me into taking her (when I had made it clear I wanted Skinny kitten). However she came out with Pudge held in her arms like a baby and Pudge was so cool & docile about being treated like that–and so obviously loving it. She was an extreme counterpoint to Skinnykitten (Midnight) in the other room of the shelter who couldn’t let someone touch her without flinching or jumping. So I said I’d take them both… Two black cats, 2 weeks before Halloween.

Pudge: on 3.21.08

Pudge (officially named by the shelter as Magic) had so many wonderful qualities. She taught me so much in our years together and It hurts to see her go. She’s been a lot of places & seen a lot of things. Moved numerous times and upgraded from a single person owner to two owners, double the love & affection.
Max & Pudge

She’s been the pudgyprincess for ages, and queen of the house since we moved here to the UK. I have regrets and I suppose that’s natural.

I love you pudge.
Go in peace my friend, until we meet again in this life or the next.

  1. Thanks for sharing your Pudgy kitten post. Our Louie has begun to spray around the house – you’ve reminded me how precious he is. In spite of the smell. Grr.

  2. *hugs*

  3. I had to let my cat Rocco go home three years ago. I was very hard even at 15 years old. I wanted a few more years with him. I loved him enough to not see him suffer. I let him go and I still miss him very much. I see him in all the other cats I see. I am not ready for a new friend yet… maybe soon. It still hurts. It gets better but it still hurts.
