This weekend I made some good headway on clay-related goodies to (eventually) put up on Etsy. I managed to improve the clay-color mix for the chocolate chip cookies (although they still need some tweaking) and the cupcakes are improving too.

Tonight, migraine permitting (it’s building now and I’m hoping a few aleve and some dark will help) I’ll try to prep another few batches of cupcakes & cookies. It saddens me to admit that it really does take me hours to make them between prepping & making & cooking.  :(    Still, I am finding it pretty enjoyable (except for the constant battle against cat hairs in the clay)

Last night I also began to plan out a second couch/sofa to make. It’s different than my previous ones, so it’ll be a case of trial and error.  To begin with, I don’t think I have enough supplies here on hand to make the base form. I’ll have to see if there’s another way around that…

On my list of things to do tomorrow:

Kitchen/Food roomset for Etsy: spray prime one of the barbie table & chair sets. I plan on using it for some settings with the food as part of the display.  I also plan on using the counters from the Sindy kitchen (aka the avacado green kitchen) .

For the Etsy 1:6 furniture & accessories roomset

oldset

I am planning on cutting down this older wall and using it as part of a smaller roomset base (the same base the kitchen fits on). I argued with Mark about this over the weekend–as it is now, I don’t use that set, and I don’t like the way the windows (2) weren’t really balanced. This way, I have it someplace I can use it (frequently) and get rid of the oversized wall set. I’m thinking I’ll use it as an accent wall with 2 white walls.

  1. You should show people your “horrible,” “messy” first drafts of fruit tarts. I bet they’d be impressed. I was!

  2. A brilliant site about color theory and mixing for polymer clay: http://maggiemaggio.com/color/

  3. I have been looking through your blog. It is very impressive. I have just gotten my first 1/6 scale doll-previously I have been collecting 1/12 scale items. Making a home for her has been a challenge, but so worth it.

  4. Thanks MW, I’m just about ready to start showing my baked goodies! A little later this week and the blog will be flooded with pics. Really! ^_^

Sheila–thanks for the website link. That’s a really wonderful site. Lots of reading ahead of me. You always find great links :woot:

ValerieThanks for taking the time to check out my blog! :) I love 1:6 scale although I understand why so many people collect 1:12 (there are so many more items available for it). Welcome to collecting 1:6 figures–I really hope you have as much fun with them as I do! :D :D (ps. You’re in the SCA??)

  5. That’s a great room! I love the reflection in the window.
